We love to have you in our room!
I love to have parents in the classroom and I know how excited you are to come in. I like to begin having volunteers in October.
This gives the children time to acclimate to our classroom and get into the routines of working independently. When you come into the classroom, you will most likely be working with students. As a volunteer, you may work 1:1 with a student or lead a small group. There may be some clerical items that need completed but this will not be often. I like to have volunteers on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The times will vary. I also know that this may not work with everyone's schedule. If these days do not work, you can contact me and we will figure a day that works for you :>)
Do you love a good mystery? We do!
Our class is looking for Mystery Readers to support a fun, weekly read aloud time. We will need readers to share their favorite kindergarten-aged stories with the class. Each week, beginning on Monday, I will give a clue about the guest reader. I will give one clue daily and we will try to guess the person. On Friday our guest will be revealed only when they come in. It will be fun guessing “who” and being surprised! If Friday is not a good day we will find a day that is.
I’m hoping to have each family represented by a Mystery Reader. Please secretly solicit a volunteer, think of 4 clues, and send in the form below. When a date is assigned, you’ll be contacted. A parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, a confident older sibling, or a special friend is invited to read. Friday is our dedicated Mystery Reader day.
Shhh! It’s a surprise! Please send this form back to me in a sealed envelope.
Sign-ups will begin at the end of September.
Thank you for being a reading role model, volunteering your time and
encouraging our class to become readers too.
